FMCSA Launches New Moving Awareness Campaign

According to Fast Lane, the official blog of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, the FMCSA received more than 3,100 consumer complaints in 2012 and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Rogue movers are usually responsible for these issues, which range from holding household goods hostage to hidden fees.

To educate consumers thinking about moving, the FMCSA released a public service announcement on how to spot red flags, which can be viewed here. The PSA depicts people getting blindsided by their movers, with one scene showing a mover asking to have a blank form signed that “will be filled out later.”
